SO

if there are any Male Starbuck descendents reading this - would you
consider the latest method to hit the genealogical world?
and which will 'possibly' give you roots back to 1603

DNA
the test has to be taken by a male with the Starbuck name and who has
followed his family back by the certificate and census
and parish register route - or I have.
The only downside to this is - it costs money!
so you need to be a dedicated searcher to want to pay out.

THE TEST
A self conducted brushing of the inside of your cheek in your own home,
the little brush (looks like a little comb for a doll) is then put into a
specimen tube and posted back to the laboratory
this having been sent to you on request and for the payment of-
- that is all you have to do

Providing, of course, you really do want to know whether you are related
to this or that branch, this or that 'possible cousin', and even the Nantucket
whalers together with the fascinating story of
their way of life could finally be claimed - or not !
It all depends on who is interested in taking part.

Below there are links to various websites that give much better information
about it than I can - the science bit is a bit daunting to read but can be
safely skipped over - we do not always need to know how the engine works,
just to get going on the journey and what can be found out on arrival is
often enough.
