1848 oWNERS AND tENANTS OF sUNBURY

THE CAINS
The schedule of Property Ownes and Tenants shows that Abraham Cain was living in
Green Street, Sunbury in 1848 but by the 1851 census he had moved in with his son
William. In relation to the map that relates to the schedule he is shown to be at Plot
No. 73 in area 2- a little further along at plot no. 66, area 3 is his son William Cain who is
renting his home from James Jacobs. The census years below show the whole family
growing and depleting through the years. Next door to William (1851) is a home
rented to an Edward Remnant and family - the owner being a William Clark who could
possibly be the father in law of William Cain.
